Dreams Dreaming Dream Dream Analysis

The things we dream about have changed over the years. Of course people may have always dreamed about family or friends, but years ago many probably never dreamed of a computer or a shopping centre. But, then we rarely dream about travelling anywhere by horse or covered wagon anymore.

Contemporary images frequently show up in dreams because we deal with them so many times during the day. Here are some of the contemporary images you may see in a dream:

Shopping Centre
Shopping centres are usually seen as places of social interaction. We often go shopping with family or friends and if you purchase something, you have to interact with the salespeople. This dream has to do with your communication skills with others. If you pay attention to the events that happen during your dream at the mall, you may see that the dream also deals with concerns you have about doing what you want, while still managing to please others.

Parking Structures
Dreaming that you are in a parking structure can be confusing. You may not know what level you are on and you may have lost your car. The parking structure itself represents the rules, i.e. the behaviour expected from us by family, friends, and society. You may be dreaming this because you feel some sort of conflict. For example, perhaps you are focusing on your career and making it up the corporate ladder rather than starting a family. But, at a certain age, most people expect you to marry and have children. So, you may be struggling between what you desire and what everyone else expects from you.

Computers
Many people today are exposed to computers – at either work, at home, or both. Computers in your dream can by symbolic of the way you process information. Each part of the computer also has its own significance. For example, the screen of a computer is associated with your perception while the memory of the computer is associated with your actual memory. And just as we often try the same unsuccessful things when our computer crashes, we often apply that same approach to real life. Notice how you respond to the computer problems in the dream. It may be a clue as to how to handle a current situation.

Hospitals
When you dream of a hospital, your psyche may be telling you that some part of your life needs more care. Because hospitals are where we go to heal physically during waking hours, in our dreams, we often go there to heal ourselves emotionally. Look at your life to see if there is one area you have been neglecting. Have you been slacking off at work or not spending enough time with your children? This dream can be telling you it is time to make some changes in your priorities.

Factories
A factory in your dream can be symbolic of the part of your personality that defines you as a worker. If you dream of a sweatshop, you make feel that you are in the wrong job, even if it pays well. Notice what type of factory is appearing in your dream. Is it dark and dreary or it is high-tech? If it is dark and dreary, ask yourself how much you really like your current position and if it is time for a change.

Contemporary images often pop up in our dreams. They may just be something in the background, but if they are the focus of your dream, take a closer look at what is happening. If needed, write down the dream as soon as you wake up, so you can look at it later to truly understand the meaning.
